SAIC

Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC) (.cn).

2005: SAIC bought the designs for the Rover 25 and 75 when MG-Rover (.uk) went into receivership. The models were revised, and the range added to, and sold under the Roewe brand in China, Ford having bought the 'Rover' name to protect its, then, Land-Rover.

2010: The Roewe 750, 550 and 350 were selling well in China.
2011: The UK-engineered but Chinese-built MG 'MG6' saloon went on sale in the UK.
