1884: The Rover Safety Cycle, recognisably a modern bicycle rather than a penny-farthing.

1948: Rover created the Land-Rover 4×4.

Exploratory prototype estates of the 1958-67 P5 3-litre were built but not "progressed" [-Rover].
1963 and 1965: A Rover/BRM Gas-Turbine car raced at Le-Mans.
- 1963: The P6, Rover 2000, was launched.
- 1966: A twin carburettor version of the P6, the Rover 2000 TC.
1969 2000 TC [*]- 1968: A 3.5-litre V8 version of the P6, the Rover 3500.
- 1966: A twin carburettor version of the P6, the Rover 2000 TC.
- 1976: The Rover SD1.
1984 SD1 3500 Van Den Plas [*]- Exploratory prototype estates of the 1976-86 SD1 (3500) were built but not progressed [-Rover].
1988: British Aerospace (BAe) acquired Rover Group.
1994: Rover Group sold to BMW.
2000: Rover sold off (to 'Phoenix') by BMW. (Ford bought LandRover.)
2001: Station wagon version of the Rover 75.
2005 April: MG-Rover went into receivership after take-over talks with Chinese groups failed.
