2014: Land Rover announced the Discovery Sport as the replacement for the Freelander 2. The Sport is actually more closely related to the Range Rover Evoque than the Discovery.
2014, October: Production began at Halewood, UK.
2015, January: On sale, from £32K (4x4).
And in .au, from au$53,300 (TD4 SE manual).
2016, October: MY17 from au$56,355, now with the "Ingenium" 2.0 diesel engines, Td4 150, 110kW, 380Nm, 5.3 L/100km, and Td4 180, 132kW, 430Nm, 5.3 L/100km claimed, 9-speed auto.
