Carawagon Range Rover

Most Carawagon four wheel drive camper conversions were done on series Land-Rovers, but a small number of Range Rovers were converted. A Range Rover has a good deal less room length-wise inside than a long wheel base Land-Rover which called for considerable ingenuity.

The rear seats were replaced with ones that faced into the centre of the car. A small "kitchen" unit of a sink and fold-out gas stove was built between the front seats. The standard location of the spare wheel was retained, although a bonnet mount or a swing-away carrier would have increased interior space — L.A..
