Century N70ZZ, N70ZZ4WD
- Be a little bit careful if you are buying a 'Century' battery
for a light truck or 4WD.
- One popular size, fitted to several 4WDs, is 'N70ZZ' which signifies 305mm (l) 171mm (w) 201mm (h).
- There are two main products in this size:
- 1. Century 'N70ZZ', 720 CCA @ -18°C, 12-month warranty, and
- 2. Century 'N70ZZ4WD', 760 CCA @ -18°C, 24-month warranty.
- The standard terminal layout is 'D', that is, with the positive terminal closer to you, and the negative terminal further away, both terminal are on the right (for the 'N70ZZL' and N70ZZL4WD read left).
- The cells of these batteries can be topped up -- the cell caps are under a flip-up lid.
- 2. Century 'N70ZZ4WD', 760 CCA @ -18°C, 24-month warranty.
- Both products can of course be fitted to a 4WD, after all they come in the same casing, but Century claims slightly more cold cranking amps (CCA) for the N70ZZ4WD, and then there's the longer, two-year, warranty Of course there is a premium for the extras -- roughly 20% as of 2011 -- so if you are paying for an 'N70ZZ4WD', make sure you aren't given an 'N70ZZ'.
