9 June 2006, 2006 British Grand Prix, Press Conference: Max Mosely, the FIA President proposed that braking-energy recovery (and reuse) devices be allowed in Formula One from perhaps 2009, and smaller turbo (and hence more efficient) engines be allowed (again) but with lower rev.-limits from perhaps 2011. Four wheel drive may be allowed again (as it was pre 1970s) as part of energy recovery systems. The overall aim would be to foster innovative technology that is relevant to everyday motoring.
