1908: Harry Dutton and Murray Aunger drove from Adelaide to Darwin in a 25hp Talbot; the trip took 50 days. Bean The Aus. National Museum, Canberra, holds the Bean 4-cyl. car of Francis Birtles and Alec Barlow which, in 1926, they drove from Darwin (22 Oct.) to Melbourne taking 8 days and 13 hours. In 1927/28 the car was driven from England to Melbourne taking 10 months. |
